The 31st World Armwrestling Championships were held in Parco del Po, Italy. This
was the largest armwrestling event in history. With over 1000 competitors and
1600 entries from 50 Countries. Canada took home a Silver in the Masters
category and an 9h place in the Overall.
Nova Scotia was represented by Shawn Ross of Kingston who was 3nd in the
Masters 110kg Left Hand class. Shawn also took 6th Masters 110kg Right Hand
class.
Wayde Graves of Bedford was 37th in the Senior 100kg Left Hand .
Ralphie Bayers of Ship Harbour finished 16th with his Left and Right in the 85 kg Senior Classes.
Special congratulations to Sylvio Bourque of New Brunswick on winning his first World Title in the 75kg Left Hand Grand Masters class. He took a 2nd place to Dave Hicks in the Right Hand.
