What first interested you in arm wrestling?
My brother-in-law, Ed MacLellan.
Where was your first tournament?
The Ponderosa Tavern in Truro, Nova Scotia
How did you do?
2 up & 2 down. For my first year pulling I didn't win a match.

Why do you keep competing?
To be better, for the competition, and because of the people you get to meet.
How much longer will you continue to compete?
Until I break my arm.
What has been your most memorable moment?
Coming back from the B-side to win my first Atlantic title.
Who do you look forward to competing against and why?
Any one that is better than me. Hopefully I can learn something and help keep an edge.
Who and where were your favorite matches?
Beating Ed McLellan (even though he's washed up). I've learned a lot about pulling from him.

What are your favorite tournaments and why?
The Atlantic's and Provincial's are my favorite tournaments because there is always a great turnout. For me, the bigger the tournament, the better.
Who do you look up to and why?
All the old guys from the Halifax area, and also the older guys from New Brunswick. Their commitment to the sport is unbelievable.
Who has been your greatest influence and why?
Perry Bruhm. Watching his powerful start gives me a goal to work towards. Also Rick Pinkney for his knowledge of armwrestling.
To what do you attribute your success?
The support from my fellow armwrestlers, who try to better everyone as a team.
What do you need to move up to next level?
More commitment, and consistent practicing.

What are your expectations for the next 2 years? The next 5 years?
For this year I would love to finish in the quarterfinals at Nationals. Next year I want to win a National title and qualify for the Worlds.
What do you do for training?
Pulley training and a lot of hand work.
How do you see the future of arm wrestling?
I see it being the same as it is right now, although I would like to see it growing as a sport.
What changes to the sport would you like to see?
Sponsorships and more recognition from the media.
What do you dislike about arm wrestling?
No drug tests at the National and International levels.
Anything else you would like to add?
Good job to Scott MacInnis on his commitment to this web site and the sport of armwrestling in general.
